Segas North American division, Sega of America, is headquartered in San Francisco, California, United States. It had moved from Redwood City, California in 1999. Segas European division, Sega of Europe, is headquartered in the Chiswick area of London, England, United Kingdom. Sega was originally founded in 1940 as Standard Games in Honolulu, Hawaii, by Martin Bromely, Irving Bromberg & James Humpert to provide coin-operated amusements for American servicemen on military bases. Bromely suggested that the company move to Tokyo in 1951 & Se rvice Ga mes of Japan became registered in Japan in May of 1952.
